About this spot

Accessible shallow wreck/artificial-reef playground beloved by freedivers. Inventory documented at various depths: motorcycles at 6m, office table and phone at ~6m, televisions at 6–7m, toilet bowls at 6–7m, a speed boat at 8–9m, a small jeepney, a Buddha statue at ~8m, and a Volkswagen Beetle at ~18m (60 ft). Crystal-clear water makes most wrecks visible from the surface. Resident turtle at ~3m. Famous freediving YouTube content has been filmed here.

Location & access notes

In front of the abandoned Monte Carlo Resort in Anilao (formerly Korean-owned). Walk-in/shore entry accessible — bring your own buoy as there are no fixed mooring marks. The VW Beetle at ~18m was reportedly a rotting car in the resort parking lot that the owner threw into the sea after refusing to sell it.
