How listings work
Where our listings come from,
and what we check.
Dive Select is an independent directory of the freediving scene in Anilao, Mabini, and Batangas. We are not a booking agency and we take no commission — so the only thing we optimise for is whether the information on a listing is accurate and useful.
Where listings come from
Every listing starts from publicly available information: certification-agency directories (AIDA, SSI, Molchanovs, PADI), operator websites and Facebook pages, and local knowledge of who is actually operating on the Anilao coast. Listings compiled this way are labelled on the profile, so you always know whether you're reading the operator's own words or ours.
Operators can claim their listing for free and take over the profile — add courses, prices, photos, and availability. Claimed profiles are maintained by the host and marked accordingly.
What we review
For every operator we list, we review publicly stated safety practices: whether instruction is led by certified instructors, whether sessions run with buddy protocols and supervision, and what safety equipment (buoys, lines, first aid, oxygen) the operator says it uses. Where an operator publishes certification details, we compile them on the profile so you can check who trained with whom before you book.
To be clear about the limits: we do not independently certify, license, or inspect operators, and a listing on Dive Select is not a safety guarantee. Freediving has real risks — always confirm your instructor's current credentials directly, and never dive alone.
What we never do
No pay-to-play: operators cannot pay to be listed, ranked higher, or badged. No commissions: booking requests go to the host and the price you agree is the price you pay. No fake reviews: reviews are written by users, moderated for authenticity, and operators can respond publicly.
Corrections
Spot something wrong? Every listing has a "Suggest an edit" link. Operators who prefer not to be listed can request removal from their profile page, and we honour those requests.

Common questions
Where do Dive Select listings come from?
Listings are compiled from publicly available information — certification-agency directories, operator websites and Facebook pages, and local knowledge of the Anilao dive scene. Operators can claim their listing for free and take over their profile; claimed profiles are marked and maintained by the host.
Does Dive Select verify certifications or inspect operators?
No. We compile each operator's publicly stated certifications and review their publicly stated safety practices — instructor credentials, buddy protocols, and equipment — but we do not independently certify or inspect anyone. Always confirm credentials directly with your instructor before you dive.
Do operators pay to be listed or ranked on Dive Select?
No. Listing is free, ranking is not for sale, and Dive Select charges no booking fees or commissions. The price you agree with a host is the price you pay.
What if a listing is wrong or shouldn't be here?
Every listing has a "Suggest an edit" link, and operators can request removal of their listing at any time. Corrections are reviewed and applied by the team.
