1. Information We Collect
This directory contains information about freediving instructors, dive shops, resorts, and dive spots in Mabini, Batangas. We collect information in the following ways:
- Publicly available information: Some listings are compiled from publicly available sources such as social media pages, websites, and local directories.
- Direct submissions: Business owners may claim their listing and provide their own information.
- Community contributions: Visitors may suggest edits to existing listings.
- Contact forms: When you submit an inquiry, we collect your name, email, and message.
2. How We Use Information
- Display business listings to help visitors find freediving services
- Facilitate communication between visitors and businesses
- Improve the accuracy of our directory
- Respond to removal or correction requests
3. Unclaimed Listings
Some listings on this directory have been compiled from publicly available information and have not been verified by the business owner. These listings are clearly marked as "unclaimed" and include a disclaimer.
If you are the owner of an unclaimed listing, you may:
- Claim your listing to verify and manage your information
- Request removal if you do not wish to be listed
- Suggest edits to correct inaccurate information
4. Your Rights Under the Data Privacy Act
Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173), you have the right to:
- Access your personal information in our records
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Erasure of your personal information in certain circumstances
- Object to the processing of your personal information
5. Removal Requests
We honor removal requests from individuals whose personal information appears in our directory. To request removal:
- Navigate to the listing in question
- Click "Request removal"
- Complete the removal request form
We typically process removal requests within 7 days. For privacy concerns, we will remove listings without requiring detailed justification.
6. Contact Information
We do not display contact information (email, phone number, or street address) on any public listing, regardless of whether the listing has been claimed. If you want to reach a business listed in our directory, use the inquiry form on their listing page — we relay inquiries to the business without exposing their direct contact details on the public site.
Photos are displayed only when the business owner has claimed the listing and uploaded their own photos, or we have obtained explicit permission. Unclaimed listings use placeholder images.
7. Third-Party Embeds & Analytics
Some listings include functional embeds — a Google Map of the business location, a TikTok creator feed, or an intro video. These are part of the content you came to see, so they load automatically when you visit a listing. When loaded, they may set third-party cookies from the provider (Google, TikTok).
Separately, we use analytics (Google Analytics) to understand how the site is used. Analytics is optional: on your first visit we show a small banner, and Google Analytics only loads if you click Accept analytics. If you click Decline (or don't choose), no analytics cookies are set.
Your analytics choice is stored locally in your browser. You can revoke it at any time by clearing your browser's storage for this site.
8. Contact Us
For privacy-related concerns or questions, please contact us at [email protected].
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
10. Instagram Data
Owners of verified or claimed listings can connect an Instagram Business or Creator account to display their 9 most recent public posts on their DiveSelect listing. When you connect:
- We store an access token issued by Instagram, encrypted at rest.
- We store the 9 most recent public posts (media, captions, timestamps, and a locally-cached thumbnail of each).
- We refresh this data nightly and prune anything that is no longer in your recent 9 posts.
You can disconnect at any time from your DiveSelect Portal. Disconnecting immediately deletes the access token, all cached posts, and their local thumbnails. Revoking the DiveSelect app in your Instagram settings triggers the same cleanup automatically.
We do not read, store, or publish DMs, Stories, insights, or any other Instagram data beyond the 9 public posts described above.
