What to expectFor freedivers
Apnea notesShallow and calm — accessible for snorkeling. However, the payoff is macro critters that require long scuba bottom times. Low freediver value except as a warm-up or night-light play site.
Named 'basura' (Spanish/Tagalog for 'garbage') because the site was a rubbish-dumping spot whose marine life adapted to the debris (tires, shoes, bottles) and used it as habitat. Became known as a muck site in the early 2000s. Now cleaned up and protected by the local community.
