About this spot

Geothermally warmed water near the seabed. Wall dive with soft corals, barrel sponges, and sea fans on the drop-off. Strong currents attract barracuda, giant trevally, bluefin jacks, mantas, and occasional reef sharks. The shoreward sandy bottom (also called 'Secret Bay' or 'Mainit Muck') is a world-class muck site with mimic octopus, wonderpus, pipefish, seahorses, hairy frogfish, and bobbit worms. A cave at ~7–8m sometimes has sleeping whitetip reef sharks.

Southernmost tip of the Calumpang Peninsula (Cazador Point). About 30 minutes by boat from northern resorts. 'Mainit' is Tagalog for 'hot/warm' — named for the geothermally warmed water emerging near the seabed. Distinct from the Malajibomanoc hot-spring bubbles across in Tingloy.
